Perth Family Photographer
I am incredibly passionate about capturing family photographs. I love photographing families throughout the lifetime. Celebrating new life, watching that little person grow, seeing the little person become a big person and change from pretty, swirly dresses to finding their own style. It is beautiful to be able to photograph multigenerational families and see grandparents and great grandparents with the newest generation. Seeing the joy that children bring to adults really makes my heart sing.
I am a mum of three wildlings! That is a big part of who I am as a family photographer. I have been the mum that has screeched at my kids because I just want one nice picture of all 3 of them together. I got the nice photo and I hate it! That photo could be the most technically perfect photo possible and I’m never going to love it because the moment was horrible. The memory is horrible.
That awful memory guides me at every single family photo shoot. I don’t only want you to have beautiful images, I want you to have AMAZING memories so when you hang that photo on the wall (or it pops up on Facebook memories) you smile and remember what a fantastic day you all had the day those photos were taken!
When I photograph families I am led by the children, my aim is to help the kids relax and have fun because if the kids can relax it generally means mum and dad can relax. This means that when you remember the day you remember it as fun and not filled with stress.
My three amazing children remind me what makes life memorable. It isn’t the perfectly posed shot of our family of 5, it is the memories of my 5 year old daughter being obsessed with the TV show ‘Heartland’ and trying to be a trick rider like the girl on the show, but since I wont buy her a pony she has to do her tricks on her pushbike instead. The memories of my son trying to fly when he jumped off the swing and my eldest daughter setting herself a challenge to rollerblade every day for 100 consecutive days (she just hit day 400, she does not get her self discipline from me!) Life is made up of series of ‘ordinary’ moments and those ordinary are the extraordinary.
I aim for a series of posed family shots and then we get candid photos of children playing, of adults and children interacting. I capture the ordinary and remind you that these amazing people that you grow and shape are what makes the world extraordinary.
If you are looking for someone to create some beautiful family photographs then please get in touch. Capturing memories is more than me just pointing my camera and clicking the shutter button. First you need to feel comfortable with me! I’m happy to chat to you to find out if I’m a good fit for your family and if not then I’m more than happy to give you some details for other amazing family photographers in the Perth area.
