Why multiple photographers

Many Perth wedding photographers offer only single shooters however, there are a number of reasons for having more than one photographer at your wedding.

There is a lot to cover on a wedding day! We want to make sure you get the best possible coverage for your day and it just isn’t possible to be in more than one place at once!

Things can go wrong! Having multiple photographers shooting with two cameras each means should anything go awry we have back up and your coverage will be seamless and you wont even know anything has happened.

We each bring different skill sets and together you get a more complete package!

Why Celebrating Life and 7 to 1 Photography

We have complimentary skill sets! I (Emma from Celebrating Life Photography) have been in the wedding industry for 12 years and have a focus on portrait photography. Kelly from 7 to 1 Photography is accredited with the Australian Institute of Professional Photographers and has been a professional event photographer for 5 years. When you put all of those skills and experience together you get a formidable team! Together you get a great mix of bridal portraiture and candid photographs to document your special day!

Engagement shoots – why have an engagement shoot?

  • Engagement shoots are a great way to capture memories from this amazing time in your life.
  • Photos can be used as ‘Save the Dates’
  • Engagement shoots are a great way for you to become comfortable and familiar with being in front of the camera. On all engagement shoots Emma from Celebrating Life Photography takes you through the basics of posing for photographs. That isn’t as daunting as it seems! Believe it or not, knowing how to pose to look your best and show off your best attributes actually makes you feel much more comfortable in front of the camera and a lot less self conscious. When you know the basics of the posing foundations that we use you can quickly move and adjust your positions for the best photos. Having done an engagement shoot you will be more comfortable on your wedding day and the precious, limited time we have to capture your portraits can be spent on getting the best possible photos as time doesn’t have to be spent on teaching the posing foundations.

Weddings – what do we cover?

Our wedding coverage can be as long or as short as you choose. We can be with you for 12 hours to cover everything from bridal prep to leaving the reception or as little as 4 hours.

The length of coverage will impact the cost of your package and also the number and range of photos we are able to deliver.

When planning your wedding coverage please remember that often the most important part for the couple is the ceremony and the couples portraits after the ceremony and before the reception. The wedding timeline and number of locations for the portrait session will impact the volume of photos we are able to deliver.

If the wedding is 2pm the bride should arrive at 2.15 to allow for guests counting on the bride being late. The ceremony will run 2.15-2.45 and then minimum 15 minutes for congratulations and 15 minutes for a large group shot. Family photos at the ceremony take time as well – small group photos can take 3-4 minutes each for 5-10 people, 3-5 mins for 10-20 people and 5-10 mins for 25-50 people. It is easily 4 pm by the time we start the couple portrait shoot depending on the number of family photos you want done.

Expectations

We meet with you prior to booking so that you have a chance to work out whether we are a good fit for your wedding. It is a long day, working closely with your photographer. It is important that we gel well.

During that meeting we walk you through the photography style that matches your vision for the day. Even if you don’t know what your photography vision is we have questions that will help you work out what you like and what you are looking for.

We ask you to create a Pinterest photography board with photos pinned from our website and Pinterest so that we can get an idea for the photos that you enjoy. This isn’t to create a ‘shots to copy’ list. It is so we know what sort of style and themes you enjoy.

We will deliver all photos electronically within 6 weeks although we aim for much sooner and sneak peaks are available within 48 hours.

We require a non-refundable deposit of 50% is paid to secure your booking and the remainder is paid 14 days prior to the wedding.

Cost

It really is like asking how long is a piece of string! We tailor all of our wedding packages to the couple so that you have the coverage that you need and want. A four hour package is going to be a very different price to 12 hours of wedding coverage plus an engagement shoot.

Prices start at $1000 and typical spend is approximately $3000.
